Spring is a notoriously changeable time of year, and it can seem like all possible weather conditions can make an appearance during the opening weeks of the season. Here in the UK in the last week alone it has gone from a summer-like 20C to feeling more like freezing, with snow predicted in some regions over the next couple of days.

During such an unpredictable time of year it can be difficult to decide how best to dress your bed. Items like throws and extra blankets that are so comforting during mid-winter should definitely be out, as the night-time temperatures shouldn’t drop too low for consecutive nights. While it’s definitely not summer yet, you should also think about losing the high TOG winter duvet, swapping for a mid-range alternative that offers enough warmth to insulate you against the colder of Spring’s nights, while not over-heating you when it’s warmer.

From an interior design perspective, spring is a great time to go for lighter and more airy colours in the bedroom. Colour schemes including yellows, light blues and whites all reflect the shift in mood from the insular cosiness of winter, to a fresher, brighter feeling. You needn’t get the paint tins out to achieve such a change – simply swapping the duvet cover and soft furnishings can transform the whole outlook of a bedroom.

Whichever way you decide to dress your bed this Spring, by sleeping on an Ergoflex® memory foam mattress you’re making sure you’re getting the best possible sleep, and that you’ll wake up rejuvenated, restored, and ready to face whatever the season has in store for you.
